Wantable Makeup Subscription Box – November

Wantable Makeup Box

I recently received a Wantable Makeup Box for November. Wantable is a subscription box that helps you discover some of the latest trendy products in fashion and beauty. There are 3 subscription box categories which are makeup, accessories and intimates. For the makeup box you fill out a simple profile of what you love, like and dislike and then a box with 4-5 full size products is curated for you to try. You can subscribe for $36 monthly with the option to skip a box or cancel. You could also make a one time purchase for $40 per box. I like that there is a single purchase option and a discount for monthly subscribers. My favorite part is that they accept returns if you don’t love your box…and returns are free. I really like the type of products that came in my first Wantable makeup box. For the first time I feel like I’ve found a makeup subscription that really sent products that matched my preferences as far as colors, finishes, etc. Wantable actually payed attention.  Here is what I received:

Cailyn Dramatic Impact Mascara 03 Blue

Okay so I’m a Cailyn Cosmetics fan and I’m way into different colored mascaras and eye liners lately…but I’m a bit confused on this product. My info sheet from Wantable say this is Cailyn Dramatic Impact Mascara Blue but the product box and mascara tube says Cailyn Grand Volume & Curl Mascara. Wantable lists the retail price at $15 but on Cailyn.com it’s $17. Whaaaat? Even the mascara wand looks different with the Dramatic Impact version having a slight curve. Perhaps it’s the same product but old packaging/branding? Either way I do like this mascara since it looked nice, doesn’t flake and I used 3 coats without any clumping. If these are two different mascaras though, I’d love to get the Dramatic Impact listed on my Wantable box sheet because on Cailyn’s website it looks more like a vibrant, electric blue and I want that!

Darla Makeup Peepers Eyeshadow Tiny Tooter

This is my first Darla Makeup product and I like it! I got Peepers eyeshadow in Tiny Tooter. It’s described as a pretty purple sprinkled with golden sparkle. Pretty indeed but it looks like silver sparkle to me. Tiny Tooter is quite pigmented, lasted for six hours (I took it off) and applies smooth like satin. Peepers are $18 and I’d love to get my hands on other shades like Libbers, Telescope Eyes,Betty Jane, Brenna, Liddy Muff, Baby Dot. By the way, Darla products are vegan and cruelty free!

Michael Marcus Lipstick Ann

I’m uber picky when it comes to lipstick, especially nude lipstick shades. It’s tough finding the ones that look perfect for yourself. I love when I find the perfect shade that I don’t have to experiment with mixing colors just for it to look decent. I haven’t tried this Michael Marcus lipstick on my lips yet, but Ann looks like a gorgeous shade that might actually work for me. For the arm swatch it glided on smooth and creamy. It appears moist so if I end up liking this shade I hope for it to be long lasting on the lips. Once I test it out a bit I’ll review it here on the blog. Michael Marcus Lipstick is $24.

Girlactik Beauty Cream Blush Rose

I’ve never heard of Girlactik Beauty but I love cream blush, especially during cooler months. I received Girlactik Beauty cream blush in Rose. It appears much darker in the compact than it really is so don’t be scared by the intensity! 😉 It looks so friggin gorge and this could be pretty on the lips as well. I can’t wait to try it! Girlactik Beauty Cream Blush is $18.

I also received a sample of Skiin Instant Skin Tightener & Fine Line Filler. I doubt I’ll use it but it was a nice gesture as an extra and I appreciate that it actually has something to do with beauty! I think I’m going to give Wantable a good try since they actually stayed in tune with my profile, this looks like it could be a better subscription box option for me. The retail value of this box is $75 (or $77 if going by Cailyn Cosmetics’ pricing) but it only costs subscribers $36 or $40 for a one time purchase. I’d like to try out the accessories box too. Are you subscribed to Wantable or have you ever purchased any of their boxes? How was your experience?

Disclosure: I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
