I’ve been on the prowl for a good night cream for what seems like ages! I want a night cream that is good for combination skin, one that doesn’t over saturate my oily areas but quenches the crazy thirst of my dry patches. A night cream that isn’t so greasy that it leaves proof of existence on my flippin pillow! It’s been a difficult battle but I finally found one in Sibu Beauty Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Night Cream. I’ve heard talks of Sibu here, there and everywhere online and offline. Honestly I’ve gotten samples packets from beauty box subscriptions and store purchases but I tend to toss those into my travel stash and chuck them if they’ve sat too long. So, I never actually tried anything by Sibu even with all the buzz from other beauty gals. Finally I caved, checked out SibuBeauty.com and decided I wanted to try the Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Night Cream.

First a bit of education before I share my 3 cents on the product. Yes, I said 3 cents…I like 3 better than 2, mmk?! Why is night cream so high on my gotta have it list? I think day cream and night cream are important and each has it’s own uses. Face creams that have SPF in it are great for daytime to help protect our skin from those pesky UV rays but at night there’s not really a need for that. At night our skin is in a resting state. It’s during this time our skin works on rejuvenation, basically a repairing phase. Think about it, our bodies tend to heal as we sleep…skin is a part of that! It’s helpful to keep skin moisturized and fed with nutrients at night to help with cell renewal, sun damage and fine lines.

Sibu Beauty Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Night Cream Review
Sibu Beauty Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Night Cream comes in 1 oz glass container with a twist off lid. It is richly creamy to the touch, glides on my skin with ease and absorbs very well. I have never experienced any greasy feeling or stain transfer to my pillows, yet my skin is definitely moisturized. I wake up with my face and neck feeling soft and smooth, nice and prepped for my daytime face routine. I have had a nightmare battle with dry, flaking skin this winter but using this in conjunction with my day cream I’m no longer worrying about that! With that said, it was no overnight effect. It did take time to see those results, about a week or so to fully see the benefits. That is still great timing to me since I’d been battling the issue well over a month prior while trying several different products for a solution and none of them helped. Sibu Beauty Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Night Cream has a very subtle scent, almost a sweet citrus type of smell. Light enough not to bother darlings like myself who have keen sense of smell, aka puppy noses. 😉

Sibu Beauty Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Night Cream is stated to help smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Although I don’t have wrinkles quite yet, I feel that it doesn’t hurt to take preventative measures. The product also claims to reduce visible sun damage and I did have a tiny bit of recent sun damage on my forehead that has cleared up during the month I’ve been using Sibu Beauty Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Night Cream. I love that this is all natural and a cruelty free product. I cannot say I only use natural or cruelty free products but I am starting to pay attention more to what I’m using and how those products were made. Basically I’m heading in a direction to lean more toward the products that are healthier and specify that they do not currently harm our furry friends.

A big pet peeve of mine with many products is not knowing either when they expire or when they were packaged. I love that Sibu Beauty Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Night Cream has an expiration date and lot number stamped on the box and the product container itself. As you can see in the photo below, my Sibu Beauty Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Night Cream expires January 2014. Kudos to Sibu Beauty on providing such important information and not leaving the guesswork up to me! Of course once you’ve opened the product, that doesn’t necessarily mean to keep using for a year until the expiry date. Just great to know you weren’t sold a product that is already ancient and expired!

Living in Florida has it’s advantages and disadvantages…exposure to massive UV rays being the latter! I liked reading about how the sea buckthorn berry is found in Tibetan Himalayas where it survives pretty tough conditions. I figure if this berry can survive it’s surroundings, surely it help my skin overcome the daily beating it gets from all the sun exposure, free radicals and makeup! Sea buckthorn berries are also natural sources of vitamins A, B C and E plus they contain Omega 7 as well as 3, 6 and 9. All of this is a plus in my book. After all we need to take care of ourselves inside and out! I really like Sibu Beauty Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Night Cream and I’ll definitely keep it as a part of my skin care regimen. It’s a bit pricey at $34.95 but well worth it in my opinion because of the quality. I’ve had it for a little over a month and I have more than half of the jar left before I’ll need to order another.
