I hope that you all know the importance of good skincare. I know I’ve been nagging you on Twitter about it but I feel very strongly about this! Did you know skin is the largest organ on the entire human body? Mhmm science, so take good care of it! I know first hand how inconvenient and annoying it can be to search for products that work well, live up to their claims and don’t make your skin peel off. After all the searching you end up with 11 products from different brands and no clue how or when to use them. I’m going to share with you my experience so far with Paula’s Choice Skincare plus a 20% discount code so you can save a pretty penny if you decide to try it!
Paula’s Choice makes it easier for us to build a skincare regimen and get rid of some of the confusion. Starting with a skincare consultation call, I was able to talk about my skin concerns, get product recommendations based on my skin type and ask questions about the products. All while I was sitting on the sofa in my Garfield pajamas. It didn’t take very long which is great since I don’t like talking on the phone.
I’ve got combination skin with occasional breakouts so I was recommended the Paula’s Choice Resist Advanced Kit which helps fight wrinkles and breakouts. This Paula’s Choice Resist Advanced Kit includes:
- Resist Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser
- Resist Weightless Advanced Repairing Toner
- Resist Daily Pore-Refining Treatment with 2% BHA (exfoliant)
- Resist Weekly Retexturizing Foam with 4% BHA (exfoliant)
- Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum
- Resist Youth-Extending Daily Mattifying Fluid SPF 50
- Resist Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator
It is 7 products but you do not use them all at once. In the morning I use the cleanser, toner, exfoliant, serum and daily moisturizer with SPF 50. At night I use the cleanser, toner, exfoliant, serum and skin hydrator. Only once per week at night, I use the Resist Weekly Retexturizing Foam with 4% BHA. No worries, Paula’s Choice includes nifty stickers you can place on each product to know exactly when to use them and in what order they should be applied.
I’ve been using the Paula’s Choice Resist Advanced Kit for 4 weeks and so far I really like it. It’s all quite gentle so my skin didn’t flip out like it usually does when I try new skincare. In four weeks I’ve had exactly 2 pimples I’m pretty sure one related to stress and the other was chocolate and menstrual cycle. I don’t have wrinkles yet so I have nothing to report on that but my skin feels smooth and well hydrated, just how I like it.
I particularly like that the daily moisturizer leaves my skin matte because living in Florida often makes oil hard to combat. Plus it’s SPF 50 for sun damage protection, a must in the sunshine state. The serum is my favorite, my skin feels amazingly soft after using it! I mix mine with Paula’s Choice Resist C15 Super Booster with vitamin C & E to help battle sun spots and dark spots. I also love the toner! It’s gentle but effective…no burning sensation like with toners that are way too strong.
Even though I’m using 5 products day and night with this kit it’s really convenient. I lack patience when it comes to skin care, hair and food. I want it done fast! The products absorb quickly so I feel like I move onto the next step immediately and I’m done in no time. Oddly the weekly exfoliant doesn’t feel like an exfoliant…but somehow it must be working because I haven’t noticed any flaking skin. It is pretty convenient being a leave on exfoliant though. Paula’s Choice did a great job with the formulas.
While I love the products I don’t love some of the packaging. I think the Resist toner and exfoliant should be in a squeeze bottle or something a little less “drippy”. I would also prefer the daily moisturizer be in a pump dispensing bottle like the nightly hydrator.
I have to mention one of my favorite things about Paula’s Choice…you can order samples! I have wasted so much money on skincare over the years trying to find what works for me. If I would’ve been able to order samples at small cost I would’ve saved tons in my quest for awesome skin! Kudos to Paula’s Choice for having samples for sale!
