Ofra Cosmetics Absolute Cover Silk Peptide Foundation | Hit Or Miss?

Liquid foundation is a beauty item many of us have a love hate relationship with. It can be tough, if not nearly impossible, to find a go-to foundation. This one is too cakey, that one doesn’t match, there aren’t enough shades to choose from. The list can go on and on. I’ve had all of those issues. When I came across the Ofra Cosmetics booth at The Makeup Show Orlando, I was more interested in their eye shadow and other makeup. When it came to the foundation I was honestly thinking, “Oh joy, another foundation that won’t be my friend”. I gave it a chance anyway, after all I am a beauty blogger, compelled to share my experiences and opinions through reviews. So, let’ see the outcome…

Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3…

My friend Marlene and I both got an Ofra Cosmetics Absolute Cover Silk Peptide Foundation. Hers was 04 and mine 05. When we were getting ready for The Makeup Show Orlando the next day, we decided to switch as her foundation shade looked darker. Marlene (ABigBitOfEverything.com) is a bit lighter than I am with cool undertones. We both still thought the foundation wouldn’t match but decided to wear them for the event that day. Shockingly Ofra Cosmetics Silk Peptide Foundation in shade #5 matched me! Even more shocking, it matched my mother as well and she is also lighter than me but with the same undertones. My mother and I both had pleasantly confused looks on our faces. My mother is so not a foundation gal, it was struggle convincing her to let me test it on her! But she really likes the Silk Peptide Foundation and said she would seriously wear it. Score!

Ofra Cosmetics Silk Peptide Foundation comes in a 1.2 oz glass bottles with a pump dispenser and is available in 10 shades. The ingredients are listed on the back and it is made in the US. The foundation feels silky to the touch and in my opinion doesn’t have a noticeable odor. That’s great because I am very sensitive to smells! It’s also oil free and I have combination skin, so oily areas, a few dry spots and rest normal. I usually have issues with dry/normal skin foundation due to the oily areas and with oil free because of the dry spots. Luckily this left no area feeling neglected. The foundation blends easily and I little goes a long way. The amount shown in the photo below is how much I used for one full face application. Ofra Cosmetics Absolute Cover Silk Peptide Foundation is build-able so depending on your needs you will end up with medium to full coverage while feeling like you’re wearing none at all. I love how weightless it feels.

I also used the Ofra Cosmetics Two Tone All Purpose Powder brush (aka stippling brush) to blend my blush and add a bit of highlight and contour action. It works well with powder, liquid and cream makeup which is great because I love using cream blush in fall/winter! The brush is super soft and best of all I haven’t noticed any shedding. I cleaned it very easily with baby shampoo and water. Simple! I use the beauty blender to apply my foundation. I use the beauty blender to apply my foundation but I plan to try the stipple application method using this brush soon. For reference, this is brush #9 on the Ofra Cosmetics website.

The Makeup Show Orlando was a great opportunity to test out Ofra Cosmetics Absolute Cover Silk Peptide Foundation. This way I could see how it would hold up after several hours, appearance in different lighting, photos and reactions from others. I didn’t use any setting powder on top of the foundation so I was a bit nervous. My nerves calmed as soon as I saw Courtney (Phyrra.net) and she told me my makeup looked flawless. Yay! I then got compliments from others about my skin and the reactions when I revealed I was wearing foundation were priceless! This was a rare occasion in which I actually let people touch my face so they could feel how soft and silky the foundation felt. To be in a room full of pro makeup artists and get so many compliments was amazing and helped me give Ofra Cosmetics Silk Peptide Foundation the seal of approval!

Ofra Cosmetics Silk Peptide Foundation…The Final Verdict

Ofra Cosmetics Absolute Cover Silk Peptide Foundation is a hit! Ofra surprised me with this gem and solved most of my foundation gripes. It has what I want in a foundation:

[checklist]
  • Pump dispenser
  • Oil-free
  • No strong odor
  • Easy blending
  • Lightweight
  • Buildable coverage (medium to full)
  • Long lasting
  • Smooth finish
  • Color match
  • No breakouts
[/checklist]

My previous foundation is totally neglected and collecting dust since I replaced it with Ofra Cometics Silk Peptide Foundation. It is my go-to foundation now and I’m beyond glad it made friends with my face! Ofra Cosmetics has other products like lipstick, eyeliner, palettes, skin care, cases and more. I already have my eye on their 3D Loose Shadow, RCK Body Glow, Bright Addiction palette, soooo many blushes (powder and liquid), gel eye liner and the Eye Care Solution Trio. I also have reviews coming soon for Ofra Cosmetics’ BB Cream, Eye Gel Primer and magnetic Ofra Pro palette!

I've never been a fan of liquid foundation for the reasons you mentioned but I'm always willing to try new products.  The powder foundations just don't provide enough covered when I'm really trying to hide that sun-damage!

I don't need new foundation yet but I do need that brush. I see alot of youtube videos using those. Since you liked it I'll probably give the foundation a try when I need some. If you're shade 5 then I'd probably be 3???
