I have been looking for a good nude lip gloss and it’s really a hit or miss ordeal for me. All nudes are not the same nor do they all mesh with every skin tone. I love NYC (New York Color) products and was able to try their Liquid Lipshine in Nude York City which was included in my Holiday Voxbox 2011 courtesy of Influenster.

A beauty-editor favorite is Liquid Lipshine ($2.49). It has pure pigments that created a 3-D gloss effect. Vitamin E provides shine and a moisturizing feel. The formula is non-sticky, super shiny & soft. Available in 10 on-trend shades from neutral nudes, to berries & fuchsias. My take: NYC Liquid Lipshine in Nude York City has shimmer and smells a bit like Vanilla to me. The consistency is not sticky at all as it glides on with ease. For me, it lasted about 4 hours until I wiped it off to change my look for an outing. I did have a bit of trouble getting a good amount of product onto the applicator upon first opening. I quickly resolved that by tilting the bottle upside down, twisting the cap a few times and then removing the applicator. It has not been an issue since then, I simply open and use.
The color is rather sheer with just the right amount of shine for my liking. I find that I can wear Nude York City alone or pair it with a lipstick and it compliments it well. I like it over my peachy nude or berry colored lipsticks when I want to tone the shades down for a daytime look. My top lip is brown and my bottom very pink so nude shades just softens that a bit. When I want a truly nude look I fill both lips with nude lip liner before applying lip gloss or color. Personally I like my natural lip color so I tend to wear Nude York City on bare lips.
Overall I am really happy with Nude York City and I am pretty stoked to try more shades of NYC Liquid Lipshine. The price point is great at just $2.49 retail so I’d love to snag Wine N Dine, Honey On The Hudson, Brighton Beach Peach and Big Apple Spice. How cute are those names?! Adorable. In my opinion it’s a great drugstore makeup item and when it comes to lip gloss, that’s something I rarely say!

@Ana Rosa Hi darling, in the 2nd photo I'm wearing NYX Round Lipstick in Pumpkin Pie with the NYC Lipshine in Nude York City on top.
@Mina Slater Thank you. You would only recommend to wear this with peach and nude lip colours? Have you tried with others?
