I’m excited to share a few swatches and info about Mischo Luxury Nail Lacquer, the first line from new cosmetics brand Mischo Beauty! I also had the pleasure to interview the founder, Kitiya King! Keep on scrolling for information about the new Mischo Luxury Nail Lacquer, a question and answer session with Kitiya and to see swatches of two shades from the line.
Mischo Luxury Nail Lacquer is cruelty free and no worries about toxins because it is also 5-free! The first collection includes 7 shades inspired by fashion week so it totally makes sense that it is named The Fashion Week Collection. There is also a base and top coat available. The Fashion Week Collection includes Empire State of Mind (outre emerald), Backstage Beauty (stark, dramatic red), The Tents (soft pink), Front Row (vibrant, fearless red), Lincoln Center (muted khaki green), Invite Only (glittering gold) and #NYFW (midnight blue).
I asked Kitiya King, founder of Mischo Beauty a few questions so throughout this post, I’ll share her thoughts with you!
What inspired you to create Mischo Luxury Nail Lacquer? I’m a chemist and cosmetologist, and have always wanted to blend both worlds. When I was pregnant with my son, I was really careful with the products I was using and what I was eating, and actually didn’t polish my nails for the first six months of my pregnancy because of all the harmful toxins found in nail polish. I eventually started using polishes that were 5-free, but found the formula didn’t go on smoothly or they weren’t durable. After giving birth to my son, I decided it was time to mix my science and beauty backgrounds to create a 5-free nail polish that was durable while still being non-toxic.
Do you have a personal favorite shade from The Fashion Week Collection? If yes, was it inspired by a particular Fashion Week look? I love all the shades so much, I can’t choose one. I carefully chose the colors to make sure I was in love with every single one of them. The shades were inspired by colors on the runways from Fashion Week. I will tell you, the #NYFW, which is a navy has been an editor favorite.
Mischo Luxury Nail Lacquer Lincoln Center Swatch
Lincoln Center is described as a muted khaki green. I can definitely see the khaki hue in this shade and surprisingly really like it. I’m usually not a fan of muted or neutral shades for myself but Lincoln Center is quite flattering. While the color is muted it didn’t make my skin look dull and since this shade is a bit sheer I was able to layer it until I achieved the look I wanted. Pictured below is 3 coats of Lincoln Center.
If you like nail art, which color combinations from The Fashion Week collection do you love? I love pairing “Invite Only” with just about every color from the collection. It’s great because it’s a buildable iridescent glitter that can be worn sheer over other colors or opaque. The color is very rich.
Will we be seeing more fabness from Mischo Beauty, perhaps a Spring lacquer collection or makeup? Yes, we will launch the Spring collection February 1, 2014. We have lots of bright, pretty shades in that collection. In Fall 2014, we will launch color cosmetics including lip gloss, lipstick and blush.
Mischo Luxury Nail Lacquer Empire State Of Mind Swatch
I am absolutely in love with Empire State Of Mind! The color is perfect for the season but still packs enough punch to be exciting and colorful. I consider this one of my 4 day shades…the ones I wear at least 4 days before chipping or changing the color. Empire State Of Mind is such a breeze to apply and not too thin so I didn’t get a drippy mess! I think I would like a wider brush but it’s easy enough to work with and I love the Mischo Luxury Nail Lacquer square bottle shape and size, which is .5oz! Here is two coats of Empire State Of Mind.
I can see myself doing some sort of nail art with Empire State Of Mind and Lincoln Center, I think they’d mesh well for a nice Fall manicure. I’d like to get my hands on the rest of the collection but I’ll have to hurry since it’s already selling out! I’m keeping my eyes open for The Tents to and the top coat to be restocked! Which shade would you like to try?
