Hello darlings! May 2011 is Lupus Awareness month. As most of you know this cause is very important to me and I hope you all will help spread awareness. Every day this month the Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) will be posting a Lupus Fact of the Day and I will be sharing them here on my site. I missed yesterday being that I was not feeling well, so I will start from there.
Yesterday’s Lupus Fact of the Day: Systemic lupus can affect any organ system of the body, including the heart, kidneys, lungs, blood, joints, and skin. To learn more, please visit www.lupus.org/awareness
Today’s Lupus Fact of the Day: In lupus, something goes wrong with your immune system, which is the part of the body that fights off viruses, bacteria, and germs (“foreign invaders,” like the flu). The result is the production of autoantibodies that attack healthy tissue.
