I really love this time of year because where I live the weather is nearly perfect! Not too hot or cool. Beautiful blue skies, warm sunlight and duckies playing in the pond are practically a daily occurrence. I jump at the chance to wear my favorite sundresses with comfy flats and maybe a light sweater in the evening. Warmer weather suits my style because I’m much more into fabulous dresses than I am pants and I love pastels and brights.
I am determined to wear what I want, when I want. So in my mind this fun and feminine light colored dress is totally wearable, without question even during that monthly female time. I received a variety of feminine products to try from U by Kotex and I found a combination that I felt confident would keep my custom fitted dress protected without feeling frumpy or awkward. You know, because in our minds everyone magically knows it’s that time if you dare wear a feminine pad. 😉
I’m a big believer in attempting mind over matter and sometimes you look how you feel. How about you? A happy mind is a huge part of feeling fabulous for me. I even try hard not to let myself feel so down and out for those 4-5 days of torture lady nature. I try to keep pretty things around me, relax a bit extra and think fun, happy thoughts. Speaking of pretty, I picked up this cute floral clutch for just $5 from a local shop. It’s lightweight but can fit my essentials like cards, keys, lipgloss and wet wipes. Because of the compact design I also fit my U by Kotex Curves liners and U by Kotex Sleek tampons inside…and some much needed chocolates! Chocolate makes the world a better place for me every 28 days! 😉
I love the cute wrappers U by Kotex is using. The fun colors and designs were chic enough to fool my brother with trickery. He saw these on my counter and while shaking his head said ” You and your fancy hand wipey things. Even your germ killers have to be stylish!” Hand wipey things? Ha! These are actually U by Kotex Clean Wear pads and I find they offer the best protection for overnight without being bulky.
When I feel down, because that totally happens sometimes, I go into relax and pamper mode. Like aroma therapy, soft music and a massage. I also love scented candles with soothing fragrances like vanilla or lavender. They are huge stress relievers to clear my mind of work, bills, etc! Stress and feeling fabulous obviously do not mix. A nice bubble bath by candlelight always makes me feel amazing!
This time of year I also like to give myself more manicures to help my skin recover moisture the winter season stole and put color on my nails that reminds me spring and summer fun is coming!
I like to keep my face fresh and clean with easy minimal makeup so tinted lip gloss, eyeliner and mascara is usually enough to give me a boost if needed. When I feel fabulous I think I look fabulous and vice versa so sometimes when I take an extra moment to spruce myself up, my mood and body feel better. Even with being sick plus the lady nature attack this week I was still able to look and feel glam. Tricking my brother was a bonus! 😉
So enjoy a candle lit bubble bath, give yourself a mani, throw on your favorite outfit and some makeup if you want. The point is to figure out what helps you feel and look fab and do it! I grabed a sample my 16 year old step daughter loves U by Kotex tampons the best out of any other brand she’s so picky that’s all she will use. I am lucky the prices are great but samples are always good to have around the house. you look great in your photo by the way.

Great post. I think it is so important to do what you need to do to make yourself feel comfortable but yet human during that time. I love the way the packaging is dressed up now too. How pretty. You do look adorable in dresses and I can see why you prefer them.
