Julep Maven Info
For the unfamiliar, Julep Maven has gone through a bit of a makeover. It is still a monthly nail polish and nail care subscription service for $19.99. The nail polish and items you get monthly are selected based on your style profile but you can pick a different style each month if you choose. You now earn Jules for things such as referring friends, receiving your monthly box and making it to your annual Julep Maven anniversary. You also get Jules for simply having a birthday, nice! 🙂 You redeem the Jules when you choose for things like a free monthly Maven box, upgrades or add-ons once you have enough Jules. You can see a full break down about earning and redeeming Jules here. As usual, Julep Maven members have between the 20th – 24th to choose to accept their monthly box, try a new style, gift a friend or even skip the month. Anything a member wants to buy outside the Maven window is at a 20% off discount. Shipping is free. Now, on to the box review!
Julep Maven Bombshell Intro Box Contents
I am an It Girl so I chose to review the Julep Maven Bombshell Intro Box. The very few times that I didn’t want my usual It Girl selection as a Julep Maven, I would opt for the Bombshell box instead so it seemed fitting to choose this intro box.
The Julep Maven Bombshell Intro Box includes:
- Viola nail polish – deepest dark purple creme
- Gloria nail polish – coral orange creme
- Julep Essential Cuticle Oil (roller ball)
- Blue glitter pot
- White glitter pot
Gloria Nail Polish
I have an odd love for orange, coral type nail polish…it’s almost a borderline obsession. I just love the bright orangeness against my skin tone and on the dreariest day I can look at my nails and get a little perky vibe. Yes I said orangeness, if that’s not a word then consider it one now and stop giving me the “huh” face. 😉 Gloria nail polish only needed one coat but I used two thin coats. I used the royal blue glitter on my accent nail so you could see an example of what it would look like paired with this nail polish. Please excuse my lack of clean up, I was in a rush to get out the door to run some errands.
Viola Nail Polish
I don’t wear such deep nail polish shades on a regular basis but I do like having them around for outfit coordination. I often wear bright clothing and that’s when I like to have a nail polish shade such as Viola to balance the look. I like this shade against my skin tone as well. The formula for this one is really easy to work with and it is very opaque with just two coats. I like how smooth it applied because I messed up a nail and needed to spread the polish out. I was easily able to do so while the nail polish was still wet without having to apply an additional coat or start over. With Viola nail polish I used the white glitter on my accent nail, I like how the contrast of colors gives it a sort of mermaid look.
Julep Essential Cuticle Oil
Okay so in my book, cuticle oil is a must for nail care and a beautiful mani. I’m constantly asked how I keep my cuticles in good shape and my answer is always the same: cuticle oil! I think every darling should have cuticle oil in their stash whether they paint their nails or not! Dry, messy cuticles just aren’t cool. I have been wanting to try Julep Essential Cuticle Oil for a while, especially since it’s in a roller ball. I really like the mild scent and the roller ball makes application quick and simple. Using cuticle oil makes it so much easier to push cuticles back…I never cut! So the verdict is that Julep Essential Cuticle Oil is my favorite thing in the box!
