iVi Scents | Birthday Cake Soap

iVi Scents | Birthday Cake Soap

Update: iVi Scents is no longer in business, the owner has moved on to other ventures.

I love trying new products or services and supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs. I often find myself perusing Etsy, social networks and numerous blogs in an effort to seek out online shops and boutiques to add to my personal “must shop” list. I am really excited to share iVi Scents with you darlings!

iVi Scents was started by Aarin in August 2009. At the time she was a school teacher and due to the economic crisis and state budget cuts was laid off, along with thousands of other new teachers. I can imagine the fear she must have felt as I was also laid off in 2009. Aarin did not let panic set in or allow the layoff to defeat her. Instead she brainstormed and used the last $500 in her bank account to start iVi Scents, which sells nontoxic bath and body products.

I had knowledge of iVi Scents from a bit of buzz flowing on Youtube and that quickly turned to a lot of buzz all over the social media outlets. iVi Scents was always on my radar but it wasn’t until I heard Aarin’s story that it strongly peeked my interest, jumping ahead of the pack of other shops I wanted to try out. I was lucky enough to get my hands on iVi Scents’ Birthday Cake Soap from the Kandee Johnson Collection, which is limited edition.

Kandee’s Birthday Cake Soap is 4.5oz and comes in cute pink packaging, adorning a photo of Kandee Johnson, who’s birthday inspired the collection.

[quoteicon author=”iVi Scents”]This veggie based bar soap is fully loaded with addictive fragrances and completely void of toxic scum. Soft and gentle, it’s ideal for all skin types, even sensitive or dry. Experience the softest skin you’ve ever felt after just one use.[/quoteicon]

I love that the ingredients are printed on the box and points out that there are no sulfates, parabens or animal cruelty involved. The bar soap is pale pink in color and does indeed have an addictive fragrance of a freshly baked cake. My brother is a baker and I immediately imagined that he was baking a cake as I smelt the soap. The soap feels soft and silky straight out of the package in its dry state.

Though sulfate free, Birthday Cake Soap produces suds very well. It rinses away leaving no residue behind and truly makes my skin feel soft and smooth. I have sensitive skin but find this soap gentle enough for daily shower use. As many of you know, I am a shower gel lover but I really enjoy this bar soap so it has become a staple in my bath & body routine. The scent, while yumtastic, is subtle enough so I have no worries of ants trying to eat me!

Birthday Cake Soap from the Kandee Johnson Collection is limited edition so I am not sure how long or if it is still available. However, there is a regular item Birthday Cake Soap offered as well as numerous other bath and body items in various scents. iVi Scents also sells body scrubs, bath bombs, shea body butter, towel treats and vegan soaps. Aarin is very social and offers support, if ever needed, via various outlets. To jump start your venture into falling in love with iVi Scents, you can claim a free $5 e-Gift Card to use for your first purchase and some items are just $5.99!

You can get your $5 e-Gift card to shop online at iViScents.com and also follow @iviscents on Twitter.

@Tamara Wilson Yes! I too try to always find products that are safer for my family. I was so shocked when I read about all of the insanely disturbing ingredients many of the popular big brand products include. iVi Scents makes safer products that are super cute at the same time! 😉
