Ipsy GlamBag August 2013 - Glamour Academy

August…the month of ridiculous heat, end of summer sales and beauty lovin Ipsy subscribers on beast mode! The theme for Ipsy glambags for August is Glamour Academy and the sneak peeks Ipsy posted on Facebook had females of all ages going bat poo crazy! Particularly the Urban Decay vs Noya debate. I totally understand arguments on both sides but no doubt reading some of the commentary was entertaining, like watching an old Maury paternity episode when you’re bored. My glambag arrived and the results of my “beauternity” test are in…Mina you are the owner of an Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick sample! Read on to see what came in my Ipsy glam bag.

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick 69

Keeping in mind that the Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick sample is tiny, I still wanted it. Not because of the retail price value difference between this and Noya but because I simply wanted to try this lipstick before I consider purchasing for $22 a pop! If you don’t wear lipstick daily this sample will last quite a while. Revolution Lipstick 69 is a bright red color that surprisingly looks appealing to me. I’m not a big fan of wearing red lipstick but I am going to give this a try. If nothing else at least I get to test out the quality and wear time, which was my goal in the first place! I’ll be sharing swatches and my thoughts in another post, maybe next week.

Mica Beauty Shimmer Powder Bronze

Okay so I don’t use this brand much (at all really) and the only products I have from Mica Beauty are from Ipsy glambags but this bronze eyeshadow looks gorgeous! I received Shimmer Powder in bronze by MicaBeauty Cosmetics and I might actually use this often depending on the quality. This comes with a sifter but I took it off so I could show you the product better.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

No need to say much about this…I’m ecstatic! I’m uber close to empty on Smashbox Photo Finish primer so this sample came at the perfect time! I love this stuff!!! It’s oil-free, a little is all it takes and as Orlando Santiago said in a makeup class…it spackles the shizz out of your face! Lol that’s not exactly what he said but I try to keep it clean on le blog yo! 😉

Michael Todd True Organics Pumpkin Nutrient Rich Facial Mask

I’ve heard some really good things about the Michael Todd brand so I was excited when I saw some Micheal Todd products in an Ipsy sneak peek photo. I received Michael Todd Pumpkin Nutrient Rich Facial Mask and was crazy excited until I saw “moisturizes and nourishes all skin types except sensitive. Really though? Come on Ipsy, do me a solid and send me something that won’t attack my face! 😉 I think I’m going to be a brave naive gal and at least try a patch test to see if I can use this. I’ll let you know how that goes…

Pixi Beauty Lash Booster Mascara Blackest Black

I already have my fave mascaras but you can never have too many options! I haven’t tried it yet but this Pixi Lash Booster Mascara is the perfect size for tossing in a small clutch for on the go makeup touch-ups. It’s blackest black and if the formula is good then this little baby will be a keeper!

Looks like a great bag! I know some girls were mad they didn't get the UD lipstick lol I'll have to try it at Sephora to see what the fuss is about :p

I love the look of the bronze powder and the sound of the make-up primer (especially Orlando's comment :))). I only used a primer once from MAC but didn't like the feeling it left on my skin. It was like a seal and I ended up with spots…

This is one amazing bag of wonderful products. I love trying new things out because I do have sensitive skin and sometimes it takes a day to see if I break out. I had not seen a pumpkin mask either so it looks great to try.
