Jewelry is one of my favorite accessories! It is also, in my experience, one of the best gift ideas for loved ones. For gifting I mostly aim for charms or engraved fine jewelry which adds a personal touch, making the gift more unique. Between rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and watches there are so many types and styles to choose from. Then there are different metals such as rose gold, yellow gold, white gold, platinum, or silver.
Engraving
When it comes to engraving, I look at it as a repeatable gift option that is never the same. If you pick a theme and make it an annual gift, you’re essentially creating a tradition. If you want a different route than a name or initial, consider engraving with short quotes, inside jokes, favorite movie lines, important dates and places, or song lyrics. The possibilities are endless. Just keep in mind that engraved in-stock jewelry typically needs a few extra days before shipping or pickup. Factor in additional time if made to order. Be sure to check the store policy for turn around time on made to order and in-stock jewelry you want engraved. Especially near major holidays like Christmas or Valentine’s Day! This year, many retailers require engraved orders be placed by Monday December 17th to arrive by Christmas so get your orders in!
Charm Bracelets
If you’re looking for a last minute gift, you might want to look at other options. Charms are a great option when pressed for time but still want that personal touch. Grab a charm bracelet and add a charm or two that reflects your loved one or something important to them. Add one new charm occasionally and if the bracelet fills up, start a new one. It’s a great personal touch because you’ll be gifting someone with a collection that reminds them of the things they adore! For instance, I love to travel so much that I have my office decked out in travel-themed decor. I would love to build a collection of travel-themed charms including places I visit and travel related objects like a globe, plane, and passport.
Other Ideas
If charm bracelets are not really their style, there are still other simple solutions for making your fine jewelry gift feel a bit personalized. Lockets and initial pendants are usually in stock at most stores. There are also pre-made word necklaces like mother, sister, wanderlust, and even hashtags! Another great customized option is picking rings or watches that allow you to choose a birthstone or favorite gemstone. Whichever way you decide to go, if your loved one likes jewelry they’ll appreciate the thought that went into selecting a customized gift!
