These days being busy are pretty normal so I often have to style my hair quickly to make the best of my time. Having healthy hair is very important to me but I don’t want to spend countless hours weekly on hair treatments. Therefore I’m keen to use affordable products that helps keep my hair healthy and manageable. If you have a wavy, curly or kinky mix of hair then you know that’s not always an easy task.
Sally Beauty is my BFF when it comes to finding the right hair care at affordable prices. So, after Sally Beauty challenged me to take the (hair) dare and finding the love of my hair’s life, I decided to share some quick hair care tips for busy girls like me!
First and foremost, find products the work for your hair! The right match for my hair is no doubt Silk Elements Pure Oils Detangling Shampoo, Hydrating Masque, Leave-in, Butter and Gel! I love that I can mix and match the products in this line to my needs. Use them all or just a few. It’s perfect for my multicultural hair and it’s packed with a blend of natural oils and rich butters that suit my hair without feeling heavy or greasy.
Cleaning and keeping your hair hydrated is important! I start out with Silk Elements Pure Oils Shampoo, Hydrating Mask and Hair Butter. I use these about twice per week.
I also avoid using combs unless I need to part my hair into sections or to prep for washing. When my hair is combed out, it just looks fluffy with no curl definition. Like this…
I try to put my hair in styles that are quick or can last for more than one day. A quick one is a simple half up, half down style. I apply my daily hair care products, comb using my fingers and secure half of my hair up. Another quick one is pinning your hair up. I like sectioning the back into 6 sections using small rubber bands and then pinning it all up into a loose bun, leaving the curly ends of my hair poking out. Sectioning the bottom means I only have to tidy up the top half the next day. It saves me so much time!
When I want to style or detangle my hair without losing all my curl definition I use Silk Elements Pure Oils Leave-in Conditioner and Gel. These are my daily styling products. I always use the styling art of finger combing, because remember, combs are the enemy of curly girls. Gently combing my fingers through my hair helps separate my curls without making a poofy mess.
A few other things I do to help keep my hair in good shape are:
· Sleep on a satin or silk pillow (Sally Beauty sells these too!)
· Never use elastics with metal
· Never pull rubber bands out, instead use a pin to break them
· When using a comb, only use a wide tooth version
· Buy high quality brushes, preferably made for curly hair (Check out Sally Beauty’s selection)
· Drink a lot of water
· Don’t overuse products, read the directions
