Though I’m not a fan of driving, it’s unavoidable here in FL and I tend to think I’m a good driver. Safety first! My clean driving record and the DirectDrive app agrees with me. In the app you can log trips, get scored on your driving, compete with friends scores, request an auto insurance quote, pay your bill, earn rebates, get ID cards and more. My mom and I recently took the DirectDrive Challenge and you can too! This challenge is fun and aims to help us all improve our safe driving habits plus you can earn rewards.
To take the DirectDrive Challenge you have to download the free DirectDrive app for Android from Google Play or for iPhone from iTunes. It’s as simple as tapping “Start Trip” when you’re ready to drive and when you’re at your destination just tap “Stop Trip” to calculate your score. The safer you drive, the higher your score! I get a case of the giggles every time I take the challenge because JJ Hightail does this funny almost dance-like driving motion while your trip is being logged. It’s seriously hilarious to me.
During your trip your miles and duration are being calculated and you’ll even know what direction your heading toward. At the end of your trip your score will be shown to you with kudos for what you rocked at and what you should improve on. Being aware of bad driving habits helps you become a safer driver…and beat other people’s scores! For instance, because of the DirectDrive Challenge my mom now knows she could improve her transitions like hard breaking and accelerating. I’ve told her this for a while but now it’s confirmed by a 3rd party. Ha! My mom totally rocks at following speed limit laws though, yay!
Now thru April 14th, you could win a Walmart gift card for taking the DirectDrive challenge and sharing your score. To participate in the DirectDrive Challenge download the app, get a quote from DAI, log trips and share your scores on Twitter using #DirectDriveScore. The first 100 users to share scores via Twitter using #DirectDriveScore will receive a $20 Walmart gift card. The top 10 scores on the leaderboard will each win a $50 Walmart gift card. Plus any new user who shares a score at #DirectDriveScore by April 14th will automatically receive 1 entry for a chance to win a $1,000 Walmart gift card in a random drawing!
Even after the DirectDrive Challenge ends, the DirectDrive app will still be available. Changing habits and promoting safe driving for the long term is very important and DAI is pleased to offer this app as a tool to help consumers be more aware of their driving habits. – Jack Campbell, Chief Operations Officer, Direct Auto Insurance.
