Daytona Beach Is The Perfect Fall Beach Getaway

Daytona Beach Is The Perfect Fall Beach Getaway

Ask me why I love Florida and I’ll ask you how much time you have because I could list so many things! Sun, salt water and scenery is the super short answer. Daytona Beach is full of activity this time of year which is why it is a place I often suggest to friends and family for a Fall Beach Escape. A gorgeous 23 mile coastline, delicious food, festivals, shopping and more await you with mild temperatures that will make you want to stay outdoors and enjoy activities all day long.

Daytona Beach is dubbed the Festival Capital of Florida for a reason! There are so many festivals that there is bound to be at least one that is perfect for your interests. I want to head to Daytona Beach with my family for the 40th Annual Greek Festival happening November 10th – 13th. Admission and parking is free plus there will be tasty Greek food, music and dancing! I am a huge fan of Greek food and these festivals are such a fun way to try new things as well as experience a bit of Greek culture. I am also looking forward to the DeLand Fall Festival of the Arts and Riverfest Seafood Festival which are also free to attend. Both festivals are happening November 19th -20th so I figure we could make a weekend of it by going to Riverfest on Saturday and the art festival on Sunday.

If you live where the climate is cold you should plan on some warm holiday fun in Daytona Beach! There are live shows and events that are so much fun. Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer: The Musical is a must see! The show is at The Peabody Auditorium along with The Nutcracker Ballet and A Christmas Carol. Also the free Halifax River Yacht Club Christmas Boat Parade is great whether you are into boats are not! From almost any point along the river you can see all the boats decorated and glowing with holiday light displays. A favorite of mine is the Stetson Mansion Christmas Spectacular tour. Touring the mansion any time of year is wonderful but nothing compares to the holiday tour which is absolutely breathtaking! This tour opens November 15, 2016 and goes thru January 15, 2017 and in my opinion will probably become one of your favorite activities too. I cannot speak highly enough of this mansion, the owners and tour guides.

If you get a chance between all the fun events this fall and holiday season in Daytona Beach, check out some other fun outdoor activities. Zipline at Zoom Air Adventure Park in Tuscawilla Park, charter a boat for fishing, take a sunset cruise or go kayaking. There are also plenty of restaurants, spas,, museums, fairways to play golf and much more if adventure or water activities are not your cup of tea. There is something for everyone in Daytona Beach!

With so much to do in the area, you’ll spend most of your time wandering but I recommend looking into weekday getaway deals for great pricing for your Daytona Beach trip. There are dozens of accommodations to choose from so take your time to look at the deals and pick something that fits your style. Then get out there and enjoy the ultimate fall getaway!
