Bedroom Makeover Progress Update

Bedroom Makeover Progress Update

It is already a little over a year since we officially became homeowners. We got exactly what we were looking for. A great 4 bedroom home with a large yard at an amazing price with no major repairs required but potential updates that we could do ourselves. Slowly but surely, updates are being made one room at a time. I decided to start with one bedroom makeover and had no idea I would enjoy the process so much!

Room Makeover Before

Bedroom Makeover

I had my heart set on a coastal style bedroom so I knew I wanted to change the wall color immediately and immediately went to pick up some paint. The shade I chose, Diamond Blue semi-gloss by Olympic Paint is now Diamond Blue by Glidden. After painting, I pulled up that old, stained carpet which was replaced with vinyl flooring. This entire process took less than a week to complete. Two days painting, one day prepping the floor and one day putting the new flooring down.

Once it was time to fill the bedroom space, I immediately purchased a canopy bed and matching nightstands I had on my wishlist for months. I got these lamps that are chic while not straying too far from the beach house vibe I want the room to have. I plan to change out the throw pillows with yellow and coral or orange ones to add some fun pops of color once I find what I like at the fabric store. Other plans include installing plantation blinds on the windows and a new door. I am also on the hunt for an accent chair, preferably coral or orange. As for wall decor, I want an anchor clock and will paint two or three pieces of art to keep the room as DIY as possible. Paint Nite here I come!

I want to complete the finishing touches before moving onto my next project which will be the guest bathroom or the backyard. I will share more as progress is made in each area but with my travel schedule, it is quite a slow process, so bear with me. Stay tuned!
