7 Beauty Tricks Using A Toothbrush

You bought a new toothbrush and are ready to toss the old one in the garbage. Hold on hot foot! There’s still plenty of life in that old toothbrush so don’t trash it! Here are 7 ways to use a toothbrush for beauty.

7 Beauty Tricks Using A Toothbrush - 7 ways to use a toothbrush for beauty #BeautyTips
7 Beauty Tricks Using A Toothbrush
  • Clumpy Mascara – Don’t have an eyelash separator or fan brush? No worries, a toothbrush can do the same thing…try it! You can use a toothbrush to help separate lashes and remove clumps of mascara.
  • Nail Art – Dip the bristles in nail polish and do paint splatter nail art or cool brush stroke patterns! Get creative and have fun with it!
  • Hair Color – You don’t have to run out and purchase a tint brush, a toothbrush will do the trick for applying hair highlights and root touch-ups.
  • Lip Exfoliation – Easily exfoliate your lips but be gentle! You can also exfoliate other areas of skin with a toothbrush such as elbows, knees and the heels of your crusty feet! 😉
  • Nail Care – Gently exfoliate your cuticles with a toothbrush and water or cuticle oil. Also clean under the tips of your nails!
  • Clean Beauty Tools – Use a toothbrush to clean beauty tools such as combs, hair brushes and hair dryer vents. I doubt I need to say this but make sure the toothbrush is dry if cleaning electrical items.
  • Eyebrow Taming – Get those unruly eyebrows in order by brushing them. If needed, put a tiny bit of Vaseline on the bristles to help hold your eyebrow hairs in place.

Extra Tip:  This isn’t a beauty tip but I do this all the time! Clean your jewelry with a toothbrush! The bristles are amazing for cleaning those tiny, hard to reach spaces of rings, pendants, etc. If you wear sterling silver or white gold like I do add toothpaste while cleaning your jewelry, then rinse. It removes tarnish spots and shines it up like new!

I’m sure there are even more ways to use a toothbrush for beauty, if you some feel free to share below by leaving a comment! Did I miss any tips? Do you do any of the tips listed above?

I have an excess of cheap toothbrushes, thanks for the great ideas. I will definitely have to try the splatter polish one. Personally, I use old toothbrushes to clean my bowling shoes 🙂

So many great uses for this one little brush.  It's kind of the DUCT tape of brushes isn't it?

pyrodamsel Yes, definitely try the nail art tip, it's really fun. Lol I never thought to use a toothbrush to clean shoes…I wonder if that's how my mother used to keep my tap shoes so perfect!

Shopping Spy Lol Kristina, I can't believe how many things we all throw away, things that are useful in some other way.  I actually just used a dollar store toothbrush to remove a bit of lint from my sweater because I can't find my lint brush!

Wow this is genius! I am always trying to come up with ways to clean my vents. Too bad I just switched to an electrical toothbrush. The little nub on the end is hard to hold onto.

Lol me too, I'm using an electronic toothbrush now & I love it! You could always check the dollar store for those bundle packs that come with a few toothbrushes & use each one for something different around the house 🙂

I keep one for cleaning jewelry, another for cleaning tiny crevices in my bathroom, one for vents, that sort of thing. Old toothbrushes are mighty handy to have around. 🙂

LOL! That's a good one…I actually purchased a doggie toothbrush for my Lulu years ago & it didn't occur to me until a month or 2 later that I could've just used a regular ol' toothbrush!

This is a brilliant post. I have used the old toothbrush on the hairline trick a few times, and as a lip scrubber but I now prefer to use Lush lip scrubs, I must try the nail brush one!

I use my toothbrush for lip exfoliation , too . 🙂
    It works great .

Love love LOVE these tips. Some I use and some I had a total V9 moment..^_^ Now being one that mother nature gave frizzy hair to (not curly…frizzy!!!) I have another great thing you can do with a toothbrush. When I braid my hair I always have these little frizzy wisp that I really don’t want (ok well sometimes I do but not always). One way to tame them is to spray some hairspray on a toothbrush and gently comb those wispies back into my hairline.
