You are beautiful. Makeup or no makeup. You’re beautiful. But if you feel like you need a bit of a confidence boost to venture out of the house without makeup then you’re not alone! Makeup is a great way to express yourself, to enhance your features and to even complement an outfit, but you shouldn’t be allowing what makeup you use or how you apply it define your beauty. Having a clear, makeup-free face allows you to ditch that laborious morning makeup routine and allow your true self to shine through. So, do you need mascara? Can you live without your foundation? How can you look drop dead gorgeous without spending hours in front of the mirror? Well, read on to find out.

Eat Yourself Beautiful

You know the phrase – you are what you eat – well, that actually applies here! If you want gorgeously glowing, fresh-faced skin then you need to be eating a nutrient-rich diet that’s bursting with leafy greens, lots of vegetables and mountains of fruit! Foods that are high in omega-3 like flax seeds and nuts are essential and not forgetting plenty of protein, such as eggs, beans, lentils, chickpeas, chicken, tofu and tempeh. Your body will literally be glowing from the inside out!

Hydrate

We all need to drink more water. So you might like to know that keeping hydrated helps with brain function, keeps you feeling energized and flushes out toxins, which will make your skin fuller and plumper – so fewer wrinkles! Try to take a reusable bottle of water with you wherever you go, but don’t worry if drinking 8 glasses of plain water a day seems impossible. Fill your bottle with slices of lemon or some mint leaves and make it a little more exciting!

Work It Out

Working out is good for you. But did you know it can actually help accentuate your natural beauty? Whether you like running, swimming, hitting the gym, or stretching it out with some yoga or Pilates, exercise benefits your skin, boosts your mood and can help combat stress. When your blood starts pumping around your body that’s when your toxins are flushed out and your skin begins to glow. Just remember that if you’re exercising outside, wear sunscreen – even in winter!

Take Care Of Your Smile

The key to natural beauty is a gorgeous smile. No one likes going to the dentist, but if you want to keep your pearly whites healthy and shining then you’re going to need to make an appointment. Keeping on top of your oral health is also good for your general health too. In the meantime, make sure you’re brushing twice a day, flossing and using a mouthwash. If you have the budget, speak to your dentist about tooth whitening.

Keep Your Hair Trimmed

Keeping your tresses, well-trimmed and tidy will improve the look and feel of your hair. It’ll make it healthier too. Get it trimmed at least once every two months! It’s the perfect excuse to pamper yourself.
