Aveeno Active Naturals Smart Essentials Daily Detoxifying Scrub Review

Aveeno Active Naturals Smart Essentials Daily Detoxifying Scrub is one of the samples I received in the Target Summer Beauty bag. I love nice, foaming face wash but sometimes the face needs a good scrub to get rid of those dead skin cells we all get! At the same time, some scrubs are way too rough…like rubbing a brillo pad across your face! Not that I know what that feels like but I can imagine it’s not pleasant. Aveeno Active Naturals intends to be the gentle scrub I’ve been looking for with Smart Essentials Daily Detoxifying Scrub.

"Great, healthy looking skin happens when you reveal your brilliant side. Diet, free-radicals environmental toxins and a hectic lifestyle can result in noticeably dull, uneven skin. Formulated with antioxidant Southernwood extract, SMART ESSENTIALS™ Daily Detoxifying Scrub helps keep what’s good in and what’s bad out. It gently polishes away debris, revealing a brighter, smoother look."

Gentle Enough But Not Too Tough?

I’m usually not a big Aveeno fan, but simply put? Yes! I am ready to approve of this gentle face scrub. The scrub particles are fine enough not to scratch my sensitive skin but tough enough to exfoliate dead skin cells from the surface. If you’ve never exfoliated your skin, try it sometime, like after you finish reading my review. :) You’ll notice smoother, brighter skin. Exfoliating helps keep your pores from getting clogged…a big source of many breakouts! Aveeno Active Naturals Smart Esssentials Daily Detoxifying Scrub is the first Aveeno face product that didn’t dry out my skin, probably due to being soap-free. It’s also oil free so may be worth a try for my oily skin type darlings.

Now, I love pleasant smelling product but seeing fragrance on the ingredients list scared me! Many fragrant face products are a nightmare for me, causing pimples and rashes so I’m glad this worked out okay. Aveeno Active Naturals Smart Essentials Daily Detoxifying Scrub leaves my skin feelings fresh, smooth and clean with just the right amount of moisture. I’ve used it several mornings with no issue so I find it gentle enough for every day use. There’s a QR code on the back of the container but it’s rather small so I couldn’t scan it. Bummed out a bit, I’m QR code junkie…maybe I can scan it on the full-sized container. Anywho, this is an Aveeno product I consider to be full of fabulous awesomeness. :) Have you tried this or any other products from Aveeno Active Naturals?

Thanks for this review. since St. Ives quit making my favorite facial scrub, I've been looking for something that is comparable. This just may be it. I'll give it a try. Oh, and I agree with you that exfoliation is very important!

Maybe that's why it didn't work well for me...my hair is thick & naturally wavy, very wavy lol. Also, I hope all is going well with your chemo & that you feel at your best very soon!

OK thanks for letting me know. I have no hair at the moment (chemo) but when I do it is thick and naturally curly so all things don't work well with it.

I have a hand lotion of theirs that I think I'll try now. Staying away from the shampoo & conditioner though, I didn't like it at all.

It left my hair feeling like straw...very dry. I had to use Aussie 3 Minute Miracle the next day to get my hair back to normal. The same thing happened when I tried shampoo & conditioner from Clear. Seems those two brands don't make my hair happy. Lol
