Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive

I am very diligent about maintaining healthy skin, so in search of a good at-home face peel, I tried Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive. I have expensive taste but I tend to be frugal, so if I can find a product that works well for a low price I’m ecstatic! However, when it comes to my face, price is no concern of mine and I will dish out the extra bucks if need be! I received a sample from Beautyfix.com which was plenty enough to try before buying. So here is my Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive review.

"This Patented organic fruit acid complex with raw cane sugar exfoliates to reduce breakouts, discolorations and fine lines. Heals while hydrating with rejuvenating algae, vitamins and antioxidants for a smooth, glowing complexion."

— Juice Beauty

Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive comes in an informative white and green box with a notice stating “Made With Certified Organic Ingredients”. Inside you will find a 2oz round glass jar containing the product, however mine was a sample of .25oz. My sample appeared rather small but it was enough for two uses.

Upon first appearance, the color reminded me of cinnamon apple sauce and the texture being that of jarred baby fruit. Yummy baby bananas and pears! Odd description but those things literally came to mind when I opened the container.  I have read a few negative remarks about the smell of Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive but I personally did not notice a foul, strong odor. To me it simply smelled of slight green apple mixed with the other ingredients and no fragrance added. It is not something you would compare to a fruity body fragrance but I would not describe it is bad or unbearable either.

After having read a few at-home face peel horror stories, I did a 10 minute spot test behind my ear per the Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive instructions. All was fine so I proceeded to spread the smooth “baby fruit” all over my clean face and neck. After a minute or two, I began to notice a slight tingling sensation but nothing painful or remotely scary, just enough to know it was doing something. I left it on the full recommended 10 minutes and rinsed thoroughly with lukewarm water. Juice Beauty has serums you can use afterward but I opted to use a serum from my regular face regimen.

Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive

Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive. The look and feel reminds me of cinnamon apple sauce and jarred baby fruit!

I immediately noticed a few benefits from using one application of Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive. My skin felt very soft and smooth, all of the flakes from dry patches around my nose were gone and my face had a glow to it. There are warnings of mild redness after use but luckily I did not experience that like I do with face scrubs. I was weary of using my own face serum instead of one from Juice Beauty but that went fine as well…no burning for this lady! My dry nose patches came back in about 4 days so this is a product that would need continued use, maybe twice weekly or once for those without dry spots. I have combination skin so I have some oily, dry and normal areas.

I do not have wrinkles I want to get rid of but I like preventative measures and due to my dry patches and living in Florida, I think a face peel is useful for me. I love soft, smooth, radiant skin and Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive gave me that. I think if you are trying to lighten sun spots or acne scars this alone may not be what you are looking for…maybe something stronger or made for that purpose would be better. I think the price is a bit hefty at $39 for 2oz but if you want something a little stronger than typical drugstore beauty, this may be worth a try. If you want to try something stronger by Juice Beauty without fully breaking the bank there is also Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Full Strength for about $45 retail.

Juice Beauty, The Organic Solution

All in all, I am glad to say I officially survived my first at-home face peel and there is no horror story with gruesome photos to terrorize you with! If you decide to try an at-home face peel I strongly advise that you read reviews for specific products first, follow the instructions and of course use your judgement as you proceed! For the most part they are harmless but as with any product, we all have different reactions based on our own skin types. I haven’t decided yet if Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive is going to be my holy grail at-home face peel product so you can expect to see a few more reviews from me soon! In the meantime, have you tried any at-home face peel products? Feel free to share your experience and recommendations.

Great review @Mina Slater ! As Im typing this I feel the dry patches on my face and tightness, this really sounds like something that would work well. It is expensive, maybe something I have to save up for?!

@greengal I was really surprised by the results, I didn't expect to see or feel a difference for a while. I am really considering the full size since I really liked it and it was so gentle! I'd like to see what it can really do after a month or two of use. :)
